1) To kick things off, could you tell us a little about your career background and current role?

Background is in marketing, branding, business consultant, graphic design, a long list actually! I climbed the corporate ladder quickly and started my first business on the side whilst working.

My first business was focusing on sole traders then I moved to niche consulting and now I have two companies and 8 businesses with a strong focus on helping women in business and leaders in the corporate world.

2) What does a day in the life look like for you? Can you take us through a recent workday?

Here is a recent day:

Ok so it is a 5:30am wake up call. Coffee & Bible. Then a walk/training.

I have client phone sessions on the way into the office on the phone. I will then have a WIP with my team.

Group workshop on zoom for 50 women helping them become job ready.

Media calls, relationship building, designing strategies for my businesses, answering emails.

Afternoon is a session with a mentee who is a part of my mentoring group (again in the car).

Then I hit finances and budgets.

Night time sessions include a group session for Small Business Women Australia mentoring group and an expert session for Western Sydney Business Women.

I finish around 9pm.

3) Does your current role allow for flexible or remote working? If so, how does that fit into your life and routine?

Absolutely. I ran three sessions and 4 meetings from the car the other day. I love it.

4) What does work-life balance mean to you and how do you work to achieve that goal?

I schedule my time off. It is deliberate. I also make sure that I don’t invest my time in anything that doesn’t add value to my family/friends or my business.

5) In the past 12 months, have you started or stopped any routines or habits to change your life?

I have restructured my training routine which has saved me about 3-4 hours a week which is crucial when you’re busy.

6) Do you have any favourite books, podcasts or newsletters that you’d like to recommend?

To be honest I listen to sermons on podcast, read my Bible and spend most of my time producing content rather than digesting it.

7) Are there any products, gadgets or apps that you can’t live without?

  • Bluetooth in the car (well Apple play!)
  • Earpods
  • Monday.com which has an app on my phone
  • Coffee. Good quality coffee!
  • Dry shampoo

8) If you could read an interview about work-life balance by anyone, who would that be?

Any leading politician as their lives are consumed by the people.

9) Do you have any last thoughts on work, life or balance that you’d like to share with our readers?

If you prioritise what is most important to you then the balance is easier to navigate. For example, don’t work for the sake of it, work to make money. Don’t watch TV for the sake of it, watch it to unwind.
