Let’s start with your background! Can you share with us your career journey and what you’re currently up to?

As the General Manager of Marketing for Rebalance, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to shape a career that beautifully combines my two passions: marketing and fitness. Over my 15+ years in the advertising and marketing industries, I initially found my footing in the advertising industry, then moving into property, refining my marketing skills along the way. However, my deep desire to fully immerse myself in the fitness world led me to take a leap of faith and become a personal trainer, whilst continuing my career in Sydney.

I decided to start an exciting new chapter with Viva four years ago, that would allow me to perfectly align with my dual passions. Working across renowned brands like Rebalance and Plus Fitness, as well as other boutique offerings, has been an absolute pleasure for me. It allows me to leverage my expertise in marketing to promote these exceptional fitness brands and make a positive impact on the lives of many.

We’d love to know what a typical day is like for you. Could you describe a recent workday?

My day typically begins with a morning routine that includes some exercise at one of our many studios, to set a positive tone for the day ahead.

I always start the day by collaborating with my team in a morning meeting, overseeing ongoing campaigns and meeting with stakeholders. We have recently been refurbishing many of our Rebalance studios and launching our new brand, so most days are filled managing these campaigns and projects.

Can you define work-life balance for yourself and share with us your approach in maintaining it?

Work-life balance, for me, means finding harmony between my professional responsibilities and personal life, especially as a parent. To maintain this balance, I prioritise what is important and (try) and set clear boundaries. I always exercise in the morning and spend quality time with my family. I am so lucky that I work at an incredible workplace that allows for flexible working and offers such incredible fitness options. Some days I might do yoga or reformer at Rebalance or will get my heart rate up at HIIT republic.

Elon Musk, Kobe Bryant, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, receive a new daily routine each week about some of the most successful people in the world.

Change is constant, and it’s essential for growth. Have you made any lifestyle changes in the past year to improve your work-life balance?

In the past year, after returning from maternity leave, I have made lifestyle changes to improve my work-life balance. Prioritising exercise and spending quality time outside with my family has helped me find the necessary balance between work and personal life. These changes have positively impacted my overall well-being and allowed me to be more present in both aspects of my life.

We’re always on the lookout for new resources! Can you recommend any books, podcasts, or newsletters that have helped you in your journey towards balance?

One resource that I highly recommend is the Diary of a CEO podcast. This podcast offers a great blend of business insights, wellness tips, and candid discussions about the realities of the business world. It provides an honest perspective and serves as a fantastic motivator for me in my journey towards balance. I find it valuable in gaining new insights, staying motivated, and finding inspiration in both my personal and professional life.

Before we wrap up, do you have any final words of wisdom or insights on work, life, or balance that you’d like to share with our readers?

Remember to take each day as it comes, understanding that perfection is not always attainable. Surround yourself with a supportive and capable team that enhances your work experience, making each day enjoyable. It’s important to take pride in your hard work, but also recognise the greatness in being a parent. Prioritise your needs and well-being. Finding balance is an ongoing journey, so embrace the process and be kind to yourself along the way.
