1) To kick things off, could you tell us a little about your career background and current role?
I graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelors of Dental Surgery with Honours in 2014 and practiced as a cosmetic dentist in Auckland until 2018.
In addition to practicing, I became a guest lecturer for the University of Otago Business of Dentistry series and a product advisor for the world’s leading dental brands based out of Germany and Japan, and was also a public speaker on cosmetic dental procedures throughout Australasia.
In 2017, I founded MAISON de SABRE with my co-founder and brother, in December 2018 resigned from Dentistry to operate full time as Creative Director and CEO. Today I still retain those roles and my main responsibilities revolve around brand direction, strategic business growth and product development.
2) What does a day in the life look like for you? Can you take us through a recent workday?
As a CEO the majority of my day is centred around making strategic decisions for the business and working with our teams to identify new growth opportunities and building on existing ones.
3) Does your current role allow for flexible or remote working? If so, how does that fit into your life and routine?
Yes. Flexibility with work applies to all of our team members, however we are hugely collaborative and love being able to be in the same room as one another.
4) What does work-life balance mean to you and how do you work to achieve that goal?
Work-life balance means being able to do and enjoy the things you love doing. I personally love seeing our brand flourish globally and have a world class team that allows me to see the vision come to life.
5) In the past 12 months, have you started or stopped any routines or habits to change your life?
I started walking home from work to decompress and reflect on the day.
6) Do you have any favourite books, podcasts or newsletters that you’d like to recommend?
