Describe what you do: I’m the CEO for Bandzoogle, an 18 year old CMS for musicians based in Ottawa, Canada. I am also an avid reader, beekeeper and mother of three.

How do you like your coffee: In abundance.

Device(s) you use: For day to day, I use an iMac with a 5K retina screen. I stole it from our founder when he retired 3 years ago; the giant cinema screen was blocking the line of sight to his speakers and at Bandzoogle we really have our priorities in order. Music before tech. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max where most of my screen time is spent on reading. I use a newer MacBook Air when I travel.

Describe your working style in one sentence: I can describe it in one word; my working style is succinct. Being a mother of three and running a business, I like to make sure to work as efficiently as possible so I have lots of time for the rest of my day. I set goals and find the best way to meet them.

What does your workspace look like: Our whole team works from home and always has. I have a very bright, sunny office space tucked away at the front of my house. You don’t need to come this way unless you need to talk to me, which is really helpful during the pandemic with a full house.

I have a Sonos speaker and I usually have music playing throughout the day. There is a walking treadmill under my large white sit/stand desk, next to an ergonomic chair. I have a montage of Hubble prints behind me that are a constant reminder that anything is possible.

Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I like to mix it up. I love listening to our members’ music, like Thunderpussy and Mark Wilkinson. At Bandzoogle, we have a shared Slack channel called Jukebox and whenever a staffer recommends something (which is all throughout the day) I listen to it. Right now I’m listening to the Fetch the Bolt Cutters album.
