In this edition of Workflow, we have The Bassline Group owner, Patrice K. Cokley, talking about how she juggles running an entertainment company, teaching marketing and podcasting.

Describe what you do: I’m a Marketing/Brand Strategist, Artist Manager, and owner of The Bassline Group, an entertainment company that offers label, marketing and management services to emerging artists. I also teach Marketing at the collegiate level, and in the midst of trying to build my podcast, Rich Off Passion.
How do you like your coffee: Sugar free French Vanilla Creme with 4 splendas.
Device(s) you use: Windows laptop with a one-monitor setup, and a Samsung Note 9.
Describe your working style in one sentence: I’m a planner and like to organize my day. 7am-9am is for self-care (reading, exercising or meditating), 10am-Noon is for focused work, 1pm-3pm is for admin work, calls, meetings, or catching up on industry news.

What does your workspace look like: Pretty simple. My main device is my laptop, so I do a lot of work from there, and I use the monitor for emails, YouTube, or reference work. I always keep Youtube, Spotify, and Gmail open.
Do you have a favourite playlist for work: Not really, I’m a music-head and can easily get lost in it. So I typically do my focused work in silence. When I’m done, I do have a couple of 90s-00s Hip Hop and R&B playlists that I jam to.
Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: An industry colleague of mine, Jacques Bastien.
