In this edition of Workflow, we have Catalina de León Belloc, Product Designer at Feedly, talking about designing her home office for inspiration.
Describe what you do: I’m now a product designer at Feedly, and I founded Purple Bunny, a remote-first digital innovation studio based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
How do you like your coffee: With some milk and a few drops of stevia.
Device(s) you use: A 13 inch MacBook Pro on a stand connected to a 2nd screen a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Next to all this I always have a small Bose speaker, my iPhone, AirPods Pro and my Apple Watch on my wrist at all times.
Describe your working style in one sentence: I’m curious, I love to collaborate, I’m detailed oriented and a recovering perfectionist and multitasker.
What does your workspace look like: Fortunately my home office has lots of natural light, with glass doors and a window overlooking the garden. There’s a desk I share with my partner and a comfy couch next to a bookshelf.
How does your workspace affect your creative process: We’ve designed the home office to provide inspiration for our work. We have a space to do focused work and an area to relax if we need to get away from the computer or even enjoy some play time with our kid. We start every week with a clean and tidy desk, this provides focus and clarity.
Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I listed to all type of music, from hip-hop, to jazz, R&B or world music like Indian and African music. When I need to focus and write I have to listen to music without lyrics. I love to discover new music every month.
This month, my go-to album has been Now Playing by Ayatollah. Otherwise, an album I always come back to is my favorite jazz album from Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus.
Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: Annie Bacher.
