In this edition of Workflow, we have James E! Walker, a multi-disciplined designer, artist, and illustrator, talking about how he juggles art & design with music production.
Describe what you do: I create dope $#!+ for dope people and interesting brands. From logos to visual and brand identities, to commercial art, apparel, music and entertainment.
How do you like your coffee: Mocha or Hazelnut cream with little to no sugar (raw sugar).
Device(s) you use: MacBook Air & Pro, iPad Pro, Wacom tablet, iPhone X, Akai Midi Keyboard & MPC.
Describe your working style in one sentence: Creatively unorthodox.
What does your workspace look like: I have two workstations. One for art & design, which also transforms into a print station. The other is for music production.
How does your workspace affect your creative process: Cleanliness creates order.
Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I’m heavy into audiobooks for inspiration while working. Then I’ll shift gears into hip-hop/rap music, soul, jazz, and instrumentals.
Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: Shawn Artis, Maven Gray and Patrice Mallory.
