Workflow with Scarlett Cooke, Senior Candidate Manager at Talent

In this edition of Workflow, we have Scarlett Cooke (nominated by Lauren Johnson), Senior Candidate Manager at Talent talking about her early morning beach walks.

Working from home and need some inspiration? Grab a copy of our Workflow book. Beautifully designed with gorgeous home office photos and stories from around the world.

Describe what you do: I’m a Senior Candidate Manager at Talent – Australia’s largest privately owned technology recruitment company. I recruit for technology professionals for Professional services businesses.

How do you like your coffee: Skinny flat white, no sugar thanks!

Device(s) you use: iPhone 11, AirPods, Apple Watch. In the office, I have a windows computer with two monitors set up. At home, I use my Macbook Air.

Describe your working style in one sentence: I’m lucky enough to live by the coast so an early morning beach walk sets my day up perfectly! I always kick of the day doing the most important tasks first, making lists are my go-to.

My day can change quickly so it’s always important to stay flexible and adaptable. The bulk of my day is spent on the phone or in meetings – taking client briefs, interviewing candidates, etc. having balance and working in short bursts is what helps me stay focused. I leave most of my admin tasks for the afternoon when I need something a little more straightforward to focus on.

What does your workspace look like: Since working from home my workspace has become very minimalist. I have my laptop, phone, and air pods to cover the tech, a notebook and pen, as well as my water bottle, lip balm and usually a coffee.

I love having a minimal workspace because it can be stationed anywhere – from my makeshift desk, the kitchen table, to the couch. It’s good to keep things interesting! When I’m in the office, the best thing about my work space is the double monitor – it’s my life saver. I usually have my emails permanently open on the second screen and my diary is open at all times.

Do you have a favourite playlist for work: It totally depends on my mood or what I need to get done, but I love Mood Booster on Spotify!

Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: Caroline Bradley – Global Head of Talent Acquisition at Advanced Navigation.
