In this edition of Workflow, we have Sherry Holub, Creative Director at JV Media Design, talking about working with a bit of chaos and being decent at herding cats.
Describe what you do: I’m the Creative Director and founder of JVM Design. I become a trusted partner, forming lasting relationships with my clients to provide customized services such as website design, graphic design, and worry-free website maintenance. I have a deep understanding of marketing, a background in photography, occasionally judge design contests like the Webbys, and am pretty decent at herding cats.
How do you like your coffee: Stopped drinking coffee 20 years ago but I love a nice cup of hot tea.
Device(s) you use: Mac Pro, BenQ Monitor, Canon EOS 6D.
Describe your working style in one sentence: I’m a design wizard who relies heavily on hand-written to-do lists, is generally most productive either early morning or late at night, and works best with just a tiny bit of chaos.
What does your workspace look like: My office is a dedicated room above the garage in my house. It’s a creative, relaxing, and eclectic space filled with things that make me happy and inspire the work that I do. My two cats also love hanging out in the office.
How does your workspace affect your creative process: For me, it’s important that my work environment is casual, fun, and creative. It’s someplace I spend a lot of time, so I infuse the space with objects and artwork that inspire me to create.
Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I have several for whatever my mood is, but don’t always listen to music while I work.
Who would you like to nominate for the next workflow interview: Melissa Burkheimer.
