Describe what you do: I’m the founder of an established private lender, Mango Credit. We specialise in providing short-term finance solutions, which are becoming increasingly popular as they’re quick to process, require minimal paperwork and are available for a 3 to 12-month period.
In particular, we’re known for our bridging loans for personal use and business short term loans for commercial and/ or investment purposes.
My core role is to conduct credit assessments, do the financial analysis and structure the loan – which is quite involved, as each loan type is tailored to meet the client’s specific objectives and circumstances.
How do you like your coffee: Long black, often.
Devices you use: I’m an Apple guy, and always on a combination of my iPhone, Macbook Air and iMacs.
Describe your working style in one sentence: My working style would best be described as ‘sporadically intense.’ The nature of our business can be quite demanding, as clients come to us when they need to access funds quickly.
This means I’m often under the pump doing due diligence and crunching numbers, which takes a lot of concentration. Conversely, if I’m not writing a loan, I make use of the down time with other aspects of the business that require less focus.
What does your workspace look like: I’d describe my workspace as ‘informal corporate.’ Our offices are in a great converted warehouse, and we share the space with a variety of different companies from various walks of life.
How does your workspace affect your creative process: We need to do a lot of problem-solving and idea generation. I need an uncluttered, minimalist space to avoid distraction and remain focussed.
Do you have a favourite playlist for work: I need to be able to concentrate when writing loans, and need dead silence to do so. I more associate music with downtime.
